Pat Carney has an impressive and extensive career teaching Mathematics. Along with his activities as a mathematics teacher at DePaul Catholic High School in Wayne, New Jersey, Carney also conducts workshops and gives presentations at local, regional, and national conferences, schools and districts.

Some of his accomplishments include the 1993 Distinguished Teacher award by the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars; serving on the Mathematical Advisory Board of the Knowles Science Teaching Foundation, which awards fellowships and mentors young college graduates who have math and science degrees and want to become teachers; serving as lead teacher for The Center for Discrete Mathematics and Theoretical Computer Science (DIMACS), which provides training for teachers of mathematics and biology.

Carney has been an activity writer for the We All Use Math Every Day program since its inception. Outside of his professional life, Carney has been everything from a stick boy for a professional hockey team to the phone producer of a teen age talk show, Rap Around on KQV in Pittsburgh.
